Reflecting on my Sophomore Year in Ttown
How in the WORLD am I already done with my sophomore year?! As cliche as it sounds, college really has flown by, but I am so thankful for the time I’ve spent here already and can’t wait to see what the rest of my experience at UA has in store. I wanted to take some time and reflect back on all of the things I’ve experienced this past year as well as all of the ways I’ve grown and changed. Lots can happen in a year and I’m so thankful for the ways this year has shaped me into who I continue to become! The Lord has been so incredibly faithful through it all and I am so excited to see all that’s to come.
Sophomore year consisted of:
Getting to live with my freshman roommate Tanslee for another year (along with a 31 day sleepover with Jordan to start the year off right)
Lots of game days at BDS
Traveling to Minnesota (twice!)
Having the blessing of assisting with the new member education process as a lyre leader for AXO
Getting my first tattoo!!!
Watching one of my best friends win Miss Fort Wayne!
Getting to celebrate Thanksgiving with the Axel fam in Birmingham
Getting to disciple my precious friend Lauren and learn so much from her and with her in the process about the Lord and His love for us. This is one of the sweetest friendships sophomore year brought with it!! <3
Attending the Marine Corps Ball with Joe + then going to DISNEYLAND (trip 1 of 2 to Cali this year!)
A trip to Chicago with the fam after Christmas
The absolute sweetest birthday celebration surrounded by so many of my favorite people (God blessed me with so many life-giving friendships this year and I am so beyond thankful for that)
Starting to sell Joy Jackets + eventually establishing Julia Elise co. to include hand-lettered products
Going to California for spring break + another trip to visit Joe!
Cutting my hair for the first time since freshman year of high school (might not seem like a noteworthy thing to include on this list but it was kinda a big decision!)
Traveling to Atlanta with Joe for the beginning of pre-deployment leave
Having the BEST time with Joe during his visit in Tuscaloosa, then having to say goodbye for quite some time :/
Getting to learn more about photography and beginning to take grad pictures (Seniors in the fall of 2019 + Spring of 2020, I want to take your pics!)
& finally, posting a total of 32 blog posts!!!
I am so incredibly thankful and in awe at the way God has moved and worked on my heart in this last year and I am truly so excited to see all of the amazing things He has coming for me, even this summer and beyond. I am so blessed to have all of these amazing people in my life that I got to share all of these memories with and I can’t wait to see what the future holds with these friendships. All I can say about this year is YAY God! He is so, so good and I am so thankful.
