Summer Concert Season 2018

If you know anything about me, you know how much I love live music, specifically country. There's seriously nothing better than hanging out in the lawn with your best friends and finally hearing the songs in person that you've been singing along to on the radio for so long. There's something so peaceful and carefree about concerts, and it is truly one of the things I look most forward to about summer. I've been so blessed to live only a short 10 minute drive from the amphitheater in our town and whenever I'm back there, it feels like home. I decided to blog about all the concerts I went to this summer and kind of review whether I thought they were any good or not, in comparison to all of the ones I have been to in the past!

JUSTIN TIMBERLAKE 5/7/18

The first concert of the summer started off a bit different than usual when my best friend Jordan asked me to join her in Columbus, Ohio for the Justin Timberlake concert! JT has been my all time favorite artist since he dropped his "FutureSex/LoveSounds" album when I was in first grade. I still remember my grandma driving me to Walmart to pick up the CD and then listening to it on my portable CD player walking around her neighborhood. Clearly, my expectations for this concert were high, and he did not disappoint. We even found out when we checked into our hotel that Justin was staying at the same place! Cue the utter excitement. Some of my favorite parts of this concert were the fact that his stage stretched across the entire floor. He truly was a performer and didn't just stand up there and sing but incorporated dancing, playing the piano, and so much more. If you have the chance to catch one of his shows before the tour ends, I definitely recommend it. It has gone down as one of my most favorite shows of all time.

JASON ALDEAN 5/19/18

Jason Aldean was perhaps one of the most anticipated concerts because it was the first time everyone was going to be together again in the lawn this summer. I went with a big group of friends, and it was so fun because one of my best friends from home, Burg, brought her college friends and I loved getting to meet them. Jordan also brought her hometown friends so there were seriously so many worlds colliding. I loved the atmosphere that all these people being together brought, singing along like we had known each other for years. Jason put on a great show and while it was hard to see from back in the lawn, we had so much fun dancing around to all of his hits. This was definitely the busiest concert I saw at Klipsch this summer, as the lawn was packed full. Overall this was another great concert, and totally a better show than he put on the year before!

KENNY CHESNEY 5/31/18

What. A. Concert. I had never seen Kenny before so I was already excited, but to top that off, one of my friends from school, Syd, was in town from Texas so she and Jordan stayed at my house with me. It was so fun to be back together again and Jordan & I loved showing Syd all around Indiana. Again, we went with a big group of friends which is always such a good time. The lawn was really full, but not quite as packed as Jason Aldean was. There wasn't too much traffic and we really got in and out pretty quick. I was so impressed with Kenny and his stage presence for never having seen him perform before, and would definitely see him again. He has so many classic songs and I feel like every single one he played just had everyone singing along at the top of their lungs.

KEITH URBAN 6/16/18

Last year, Keith Urban was the best show of the summer so everyone went into this concert expecting nothing less. Unfortunately, he ended up performing for about half the time, and Kelsea Ballerini performed the first half. It was almost like she was not an opener but splitting the act with him. I had seen Kelsea in the pit when she opened for Thomas Rhett last April, and loved her stage presence and style. Overall, they both were great, but it wasn't as good as Keith's show last summer. We still had so much fun embracing the last concert of the summer where we would all be together. Unfortunately, I still have so many concerts left on my mega ticket but because of how soon I have to get back to school, I can't make it to any others. This was a great concert to end the summer concert season with!

I'm incredibly thankful for all these memories made this summer, until next time (-:
